I was amazed to come here and see this title with a 6.3/10 I agree this movie is breaking any boundaries in story storytelling but it's a fun movie with memorable actors that has special effects that hold up to this day.
I gave this film a 10/10 because I believe it fills its role as an action filled thriller, that's balanced with some comedy and very slight drama. It's a fun movie to watch when you're bored at home and have some time to kill, and it's fun to watch another 10 times after that with a drink and some popcorn. This is a movie you don't want to miss out on.

The more I watch this movie (and I have seen it many times because my son is obsessed) the more I like it and the more I realize it kind of sucks.

(Spoilers. The fact that Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton emerge unscathed from not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 tornadoes is laughable. The dialogue sometimes makes me squirm. Carey Elwes' southern accent is awful. Jami Gertz's character is just plain annoying. The kiss at the end is completely out of place. But I will watch it again and again. Philip Seymour Hoffman is great, as always. I enjoyed all of the nerdy/goofy scientists. I love the noise of the tornadoes (A camel. br> So, if you are capable of turning on your tv and turning off your brain, watch it. The tornadoes are cool, whether or not they are realistic.
